Bayern Munich disappointed in their first game against Shakhtar. They
were expected to take a big step towards the quarterfinals, but the game
ended in a draw 0-0. The Bayern-players were not at their best, and it
certainly did not help that Xabi Alonso was sent off with a red card,
and he is now suspended for this game. It means that Bastian
Schweinsteiger will take charge in midfield, and he is more than
competent enough to control this game.
The FCB beat Hannover with 3-1 on
the weekend, which gives them a great preview for an important
Champions League-game. Thomas Müller found his way back to being a
goalscorer as he scored twice. Generally this Bayern team has a range of
great players, and the likes of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery should
be to sufficient to advance to the quarterfinals.
